Wow.  I haven't updated this in a loooong time.  Bad Bookie, lol!

Not much going on here.  I was finally able to get outside and do some yard work after 3 straight days of rain.  Spent half the time looking over my shoulder to make sure my crazy neighbor didn't come out and start screaming about me pulling out her weeds (well, the roots were technically on MY side anyway).  Squatting to pull weeds is VERY good exercise for your thighs *crosses fingers*.  After all, I've only got 3 weeks before we leave for the beach!

Except for work, I'm not doing much.  I'm staying away from Amherst for a while, considering they have several cases of confirmed swine flu at Amherst College.  I'm trying to write a NCIS story, but am finding it really hard to be motivated, something that is bothering me a lot because I've never had trouble writing a story before.

Oh, and my "puppy" turned 11 yesterday!!! *see my userpic*

I hate that people are getting older.

Seriously, the title says it all.  God, I'm so boring I'm talking about the damn WEATHER!!

Not much happened today.  At work, director is attempting (and I mean this in the broadest sense) to upload some of the documents and photos that I've scanned onto the web.  It's just a trial run, but we'll see if she can manage to do it (I'm not holding my breath).  However, the geek that I am is super excited to actually have tidbits of my work online.  Plus, I guess she's been talking to the historical society about work that I could possibly do for them when my grant runs out at the library *squeals*.

I really do love my field, and if anyone who is reading this is interested in what I do, just ask, lol.  If you'd rather not ask, it's in my LJ bio.

Ass-kicking by 250 year-old dust will have to wait until next Friday.  Tomorrow is yard work day, after 2 plus days of straight rain.  It's supposed to be 70, but I'll believe it when I get sunburned.  New England weather is three kinds of crazy.

A little more than a month before we head to the beach.  I've got a lot of work to do if I hope to look like Ziva in a swimsuit by the end of May, lol!

I just watched the most incredible movie last night.  It was a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie, believe it or not, and it was about a mostly unknown woman who rescued 2,500 children from the Warsaw Ghetto during the Holocaust.  Just...wow.  This has completely renewed my previous interest/obsession with the Warsaw Ghetto uprising.  It is just a fascinating topic, not to mention I'm part Polish.

I know I haven't written in a loooong time, and probably no one reads this thing anyway, but I'll try harder.  I've been busy with work, yard work, and spring cleaning at the museum I volunteer at.  Nothing like 250 years worth of dust to knock you on your ass, lol!

Well, it's another day in the neighborhood, actually more like a street.  It's cold and it's rainy, and apparently, we could get some flurries this weekend.  That's just wrong, I tell you, very, very wrong, although I have lived places where it's snowed on Easter and Halloween.

Spent several hours yesterday at the museum helping my former supervisor.  We went next door to the town library, and I got to dig around in the special collections!!!  Very squee-worthy, and a true sign of a complete dork.  Had a bit of a headache after zooming through microfiche, though.

My second cousin got married yesterday, although it was the government ceremony, and I guess the family reception/celebration is in July.  I don't think I'll be able to go, considering they live in Switzerland, but congraduations in Swiss-German anyway!!

Bored, laa-dee-daa.  I think I need to join some more LJ communities.  Off to explore.

Doldrums have set in.  Not a great TV night, in my humble opinion.  NCIS was okay, and Ziva looked beautiful as always, but she didn't have as much screen time as I would have liked.  The storyline was a bit ho-hum, but oh well, there's a new episode next week!

SVU did another one of their "theme" episodes, this one about child soldiers in Africa.  Very disturbing.

In preparation for tomorrow, I've uber-updated my computer with all the new virus protection stuff.

I apologize to anyone who reads this (if anyone actually does) because my wording is not as eloquent as I would have liked.  I'm tired, bored, and sore from raking dead grass in the front yard (don't ask).  I suppose if I'm desparate, I'll just rewatch some Zivisodes from NCIS and go searching for interesting fanfics.
